It worked exactly as they advertised and seems to hold the heat very well because I can no longer feel anything at all when I touch that hot water pipe.It was a little odd wrapping the pipe, but the important thing to remember is that you don't want the edges to just "touch" you want them to slightly overlap to get the full effect of using it. I read somewhere (and it makes sense) that if you just have the edges touch that they will some away from each other slightly and you will be exposing that small area of the pipe, whereas overlapping a little (I did about 1/8 inch), doesn't allow that to happen.I had purchased the 2 inch size and used it, but I was happy to have the 3 and 4 inch size because you lose about 1/4 inch per each loop around the pipe because of the overlap. The pipe I'm wrapping is about 40 feet from end to end, so having the wider tape made the job a lot simpler than the 2 or 3 inch versions, but they are all quite good.
